How To Stream On Social Media Platforms Using Restream?

By connecting Teams offered by Knorish with your Restream account, you can easily livestream meetings and webinars to multiple social media platforms. Here’s how to setup and livestream your MS Teams meetings to multiple social media platforms using Restream.

Setup Restream For Live Streaming

Ensure that live streaming is enabled in your Teams settings. Follow these steps below

  • Access your restream account

  • Click on Edit Destinations < Add Channels

  • Add the social media platforms you need

  • Log in and connect each platform by following the on-screen instructions, granting permission as needed.

You are now ready for setting up MS Teams for streaming.

Configure Live Event On Microsoft Teams for Streaming

Here’s how to configure MS Teams to connect to Restream, allowing you to broadcast your meetings live across your selected platforms.

  • Access your MS Teams app
  • Click on +Apps
  • Search Customised Streaming by Microsoft
  • Cross check to ensure the app is enabled on your account
  • On MS Teams, then setup the meeting or webinar as per the date and time
  • Edit the meeting options as required
  • Save the settings < Join the meeting or webinar
  • Click on +Apps < Customised Streaming
  • Click Save
  • MS teams would now require the RTMP Keys
  • Head back to Restream
  • On Restream, select schedule Event
  • Select Encoder | RTMP
  • Enter Live session details: Title, date, time, description and thumbnail
  • Select the social media platforms you wish to go live on
  • Click Create Event
  • Copy paste the RTMP URL and key in MS Teams streaming app
  • Click Start Streaming and Start Meeting

Important Considerations

  • Reach out to the Knorish support team if the MS Teams streaming app is not enabled.
  • Streaming live always has a minor delay which could be upto 60 seconds as well. However, the user experience still remains intact as the stream is live for them at that instant. Expect delays in responses from audience due to this.  
  • As of Nov 2024, the free Restream plan allows streaming to two platforms simultaneously but adds a Restream watermark. For more advanced features and higher streaming limits, explore Restream's paid plans. For more information, visit the Restream Pricing Page.
