Why can’t my community members post in the Knorish community?

If your members are unable to post in your community, it’s usually due to group permissions, access settings, or missing membership. By adjusting these, you can quickly enable participation and ensure your community stays active.

Check posting permissions for groups

Each group in your community has its own posting rules. If members can’t post, it may be restricted to admins only.

How to check:
  1. Go to your Knorish dashboard
  2. Click Community > Groups
  3. Click the settings (gear icon) next to the group
  4. Scroll to Posting Permissions
  5. Choose between anyone can post or only admins can post
  6. If you want members to engage, ensure “anyone can post” is selected.

Check access permissions for members

Members must have the right access before they can post. If their access is restricted, posting will be disabled.

How to check:
  1. Go to your Knorish dashboard
  2. Click Community > Groups
  3. Open the settings (gear icon) for the group
  4. Scroll to Access Permissions
  5. Confirm if it is set to anyone can join or restricted to specific courses, bundles, or teams
  6. If restricted, ensure your members are enrolled in the required course or bundle

Confirm member is part of the group

Even if permissions are correct, a member may not have been added to the group. You can check this directly from the group settings.

How to check:
  1. Go to your Knorish dashboard
  2. Click Community > Groups
  3. Open the settings (gear icon) for the group
  4. Click Group users
  5. Search for the member’s name or email to confirm if they are listed
  6. If not, use Add User to manually add them to the group
  7. Save changes
Important Considerations
  1. Posting permissions are controlled at the group level, so review each group individually.
  2. If you’re running paid groups, ensure the linked course or bundle checkout is completed before adding users.
  3. Always verify a user’s status in the group when troubleshooting posting issues.
  4. Encourage new members to post an introduction once added — this sparks engagement right away.
