How to customize the user theme, user dashboard's menu labels and visibility

This article explains how to personalize your academy’s user interface by customizing the User Theme, renaming Menu Labels, and controlling Menu Visibility on your learners’ dashboards. With these features, you can tailor both the look and structure of your learners’ experience across web and mobile platforms.

Customize User Theme

You can now control how your users experience your site by setting up custom themes for their dashboards, profile, checkout, and course pages.

  • Go to website builder > Themes > User Theme
  • You'll be asked to opt for a Dark or Light Theme.
  • Edit the Active Theme or Apply the theme

  • Change the colors accordingly
  • Click on the color and auto select
  • You can also type or paste hex code
  • Click on Preview
  • Reset, for default settings

Info
Exact color codes can be searched online on sites such as Image Color Picker and Color Hex.

For example, here are the color codes used :

  • Brand color - EED60C (Yellow)
  • Link buttons background color - FF00D1 (Fuchsia)
  • Link buttons text color - 00FFFC (Light blue)
  • Menu background color - 17FF00 (Light green)
  • Menu text color - FF0000 (Red)

Once applied, brand color changes will show up on the course delivery, and course progress on user dashboard profile pages.

Changes in the Link button's background color will affect buttons on the Signup& Login, User dashboard. Course Delivery, Checkout, Profile pages.

Changes in the Link buttons' text color will affect the text color in the courses section in the user dashboard, sign-up& login, and profile pages.

Menu background color applies to the menu background colors across the user dashboard.

However, it does not apply to the front end of the website. The front end of the website would still display what has been set up in website builder> site settings> menu design.

Menu text color changes will reflect as follows:

Customize Menu Labels and Visibility Settings

This functionality allows you to control which menu items are visible on a user’s dashboard and even rename them as per your preference.

Here’s how to configure these settings:
  1. Go to Dashboard > Website Builder
  2. Click Themes > User Theme

  1. Under Menu Visibility Settings, select menu items you wish to show or hide from users
  2. Use the text boxes to rename menus with custom labels
  3. Click Save Changes
  4. Click Preview to see how the updated dashboard will appear to users
Once done, the changes will apply to all users across all browsers within 24 hours or after they close and reopen their browser. As an admin, you can view the changes immediately in this browser.

You can also reorder Courses, Bundles, Sections, and Spotlights to match your preferred layout and improve user navigation or upsell opportunities. Learn more about it here: How to customize the User Dashboard

Important Considerations
  • The selected User Theme and Menu Labels apply to both web and mobile apps
  • Admins will see theme and menu changes immediately in the same browser
  • Learners may experience a short delay (up to 24 hours) for updates due to cache; to view changes instantly, open the site in an incognito window or a new browser
  • Menu visibility and label customization affect only the user dashboard, not the public-facing website
