If you’re running paid community groups, memberships, or tiered access, offering discounts is a powerful way to attract new members and run seasonal promotions. Every paid group in Knorish is connected to either a course (for one-time payments) or a bundle (for subscriptions, memberships, tiers, or EMI plans). By creating coupons for these courses or bundles, you can set up flexible discounts that encourage sign-ups and participation in your community.
In this guide, we will walk you through how to create and share coupons for both courses and bundles so you can promote your paid groups effectively.
Creating course coupons ( For one-time payments)
Course coupons are ideal if your community access is linked to a course with a one-time purchase payment option.
Here’s how to set up a course coupon:
- Access the publisher dashboard
- Go to Transactions > Coupons in your Knorish dashboard
- Select Create Course Coupon
- Enter a unique Coupon Code that members will use
- Choose the Discount Type (percent or fixed value) and enter the discount amount
- Set the Valid From and Valid To dates if it’s a limited-time promotion
- Decide whether it applies to All Courses or Single/Multiple Courses
- Ensure to select the specific course assigned in the group.
- Enter the Number of Uses Allowed (leave blank for unlimited)
- Click Create
Simply share the coupon code via email, whatsapp and other marketing channels to promote the community.
Creating bundle coupons (subscriptions, memberships, tiers)
Bundle coupons are best for memberships, recurring subscriptions, EMI options, or tiered groups.
Here’s how to set up a bundle coupon:
- Go to Transactions > Coupons
- Select Create Bundle Coupon
- Enter your Coupon Code
- Choose the Discount Type (percent or fixed) and enter the discount amount
- Select the Coupon Currency if multiple gateways are enabled
- Add Valid From and Valid To dates if required
- Choose whether it applies to All Bundles or Single/Multiple Bundles
- Ensure to select the specific bundle assigned in the group.
- Select the Payment Type – one-time, subscription daily, weekly, monthly EMI, or yearly
- Enter the Number of Uses Allowed
- Click Create
Once created, bundle coupons give you flexibility to run offers for tiered memberships and recurring plans.
After creating coupons, you can promote them across multiple channels to maximize sign-ups:
- Add them to landing pages explaining your community groups and tiers
- Share directly inside your community feed as a special offer post
- Include them in email campaigns to your audience
- Promote on social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook or X
- Share via WhatsApp automation or SMS campaigns
- Include in event promotions for webinars, masterclasses or seasonal campaigns
This ensures your discount campaigns reach the right audience and bring them into your community.
Important Considerations
- Coupons only apply to the linked course or bundle that grants access to your community group
- Ensure your group’s Access Permissions are tied to the same course or bundle for discounts to work
- Limit usage if you want exclusivity such as first 50 members only
- Seasonal discounts can create urgency but avoid overusing them so your community retains its value
- Always test the coupon before launching campaigns to confirm it applies correctly
