This article explains how learners can review and update their notification preferences after they log in to an Edbound AI-powered site. Learners can turn off any notification type, including Web Push, drip emails, live session reminders, and marketing emails, without contacting the site admin. This article is written for learners and can be shared directly with users who ask how to opt out of notifications.
Open the Notifications tab
The starting point for every notification preference toggle lives on this one page.
- Log in to your account on the site
- Click your profile picture or avatar at the top right
- From the dropdown menu, click Notifications
The Notifications page opens with a list of every notification type you can control
Turn off all notifications at once
The fastest way to go quiet across every channel at the same time.
- At the top of the Notifications page, locate the Receive all notifications toggle
- Switch it to OFF
The change saves automatically.
Manage notifications by category
Keep the messages you want and silence the ones you don't, instead of going dark on everything.
You can opt out of specific categories instead of all notifications. Notifications are grouped under sections such as Learning & Course Updates (drip emails, live session reminders, live event emails, course expiry), Marketing & Funnels, Account, and Web Push.
To turn off a single category:
- Find the category on the Notifications page
- Toggle the switch to OFF next to the specific notification type
- The change saves automatically
Disable Web Push specifically
Stop browser pop-ups while keeping email and every other channel running normally.
- Go to Profile > Notifications
- Find the Web Push section
- Toggle the WEB PUSH NOTIFICATIONS switch to OFF
Once disabled, you will stop receiving browser push notifications from the site. You will still receive emails and other channel notifications unless those are turned off as well.
Re-enable a notification later
Reversing any of the above takes the same number of clicks as turning it off.
Return to the Notifications page and toggle the switch back to ON. The change applies to future notifications.
Important Considerations
A few edge cases worth knowing about if Web Push or any other notification type does not behave the way you expect.
- Disabling Web Push from the Notifications tab affects only this site. If you want to block notifications at the browser level, see How to enable browser notifications to receive Web Push
- If you have turned on Web Push but still are not receiving notifications, check that your browser and operating system both allow notifications for the site
- Account and security notifications related to sign-in or password changes may continue to be sent regardless of your preferences, for the security of your account
